Job Title: Payment Specialist

Compensation: $25/hour

We are currently seeking a Payment Specialist to join our team in Irvine, CA. This is an onsite role offering an immediate start at $25/hour. If you're passionate about helping students and have strong collections experience, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform cash collections for institutional loans, private loans, cash payment plans, and past-due inactive student accounts.
  • Coordinate collection efforts with loan servicers and third-party agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with HEOA Disclosure, Regulation Z, Truth in Lending, and CFPB requirements.
  • Make 80-100 outbound calls daily to collect payments from inactive students.
  • Conduct skip tracing to locate borrowers.
  • Meet and exceed monthly collection goals and daily activity targets.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for the Collections Supervisor.
  • Support training of Collection Associates.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience (6 months to 1 year in collections preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of collection regulations including HEOA, Regulation Z, and Truth in Lending.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical and skip tracing skills.
  • Familiarity with system databases.
